BABY AND TODDLER HOODED TOWEL
Purchase two towels and one hand towel. This will make two hooded towels. (Note buy a light or medium weight towel, the heavy towels are really hard on your sewing machine.)
Cut your tags off so you don't have to mess with them while trying to sew your towel.
Fold your hand towel in half length wise (match up your finished edges at the bottom) and cut it in half.
Now fold each half of the hand towel in half the long ways and sew straight across the edge you cut. Then I suggest you serge or use a zig zag to finish off the edge.
Fold the hand towel open to form a triangle at the top as shown. Measure 2 inches down from the point of the hood and snip it off.
Throw away the sniped off triangle piece, sew and zig zag straight across the piece you just cut.
Turn right side out and fold the (factory) finished edge up about 2 inches. I like to line the fold up to the factory lines in the towels, it helps to get it straight and it gives the hood some design. Now sew the fold in place. If you want to get fancy I have sewn ribbon across the hood at this time or do some decretive stitching.
Now take your large body towel and fold it in half matching the shorter edges. Find the middle and put a pin in it to mark it. Match up the center of the towel to the center sewn edge of the back part of the hood putting right sides together. Pin the hood on the towel all the way across. Its important to pin so it doesn't slide.
This picture is where you sew the hood on.
On the ends make sure you secure it, kids like to pull those hoods tight. I also like to go over the center part of the hood that's connected to the towel to secure it too.
Now your done. These towels are great baby shower gifts and Christmas presents my nieces and nephews are always wanting a new towel. You can embellish them with super hero emblems, crowns ribbons the sky's the limit. Have fun and I hope this was helpful for you.
This is a pink one I made for my new niece Kaitlyn.

Fun and easy Pin Cushion
First cut a circle piece of felt that complements your fabric you will be using. I just used the bottom of the holder as my template and cut it slightly smaller to fit.
Now cut your pin cushion part I used a salad plate to get my circle the right size. I love how you can use things around the house for patterns don't you.
Next you gather your circle. I fold the fabric under about a quarter to a half an inch and do a running stitch. It kind of looks like a big yo yo.
Now quickly put a good amount of hot glue on the felt piece and stuff the fabric part in. Push down on it and arrange it the way you want it.
They are adorable.
